Quirky charm with great ambiance
I had a lovely stay in a beautifully decorated room that maintained its historic character, making it a unique experience. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, and I really enjoyed the hearty English breakfast served in a charming candlelit setting. the road noise occasionally disrupted my sleep, so it would be beneficial to consider soundproofing the rooms facing the street.

The building has a unique character, with individual room designs that showcase its historic roots. Quality toiletries, a Nespresso machine, and delicious biscuits add those special touches that elevate the experience, making it feel more intimate than your average pub with rooms.
Our room, dubbed the 'Classic Room,' felt a bit cramped, lacking adequate storage space and privacy, especially being directly above the noisy kitchen. The decor seemed tired and the television was slow to respond after switching it on, not exactly ideal for some downtime. The breakfast was a letdown, taking far too long to arrive, and the scrambled eggs were merely microwaved and lukewarm upon serving.
